dbadm will not be available on clients. It will be on your master server only, to control the NetBackup Database.

bpadm is not the same as dbadm. What are you trying to do?

dbadm:

4) To start the NetBackup Relational Database Administration Tool:
Windows:  (this is in the form of a GUI)
Run:  <installpath>\Netbackup\bin\NbDbAdmin.exe
UNIX/Linux: (this is a MUI).
Run: /usr/openv/db/bin/dbadm

I agree with @ram619.

bpadm has never been available on Windows.
Your only choices are the GUI or commands.

Hmm it's not there. someone must've deleted it.

So the question lies. Are you wanting to run bpadm (as mentioned not on windows) or dbadm?

Above link gives a console after command

(Windows)
<install path>\Veritas\Netbackup\bin\NbDbAdmin.exe

revaroo's picture

As mentioned, someone has deleted your NbDbAdmin.exe command.

Arun K's picture

Any thing alternate i can use?

revaroo's picture

You could see if it was backed up with any policy by attempting a restore ?

Problem is, you don't know when it was deleted.

Other suggestion, install NetBackup on a test box of the same OS and copy it over or check if you have an OS of the same type and see if it exists then copy it over.

Command does not exist in unpatched 6.5.

There is no other command alternate to this?

nbdb_admin command?

revaroo's picture

No! nbdb_admin is not the same as NbDbAdmin, though you can do similar things with them.

Go restore the file.

mph999's picture

Why do you want the command

It is not a command to play about with ?

I want to check space utilisation?

Is nbdbadmin.exe. and nbdb_admin same?

Marianne's picture

PLEASE read through TECH126758 again....

You will see that the one is a text-based utility (CLI).

The other one was introduced in 6.5.2 and is GUI-based.

NBDBadmin.exe is in windows

dbadm is in unix

Above is for database managing.

How to check SYbase is up or not?

nbdb_ping is better or dbadm?
