When running the below command from client,Getting the below error:
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin>bpclntcmd -pn
expecting response from server winlk23

I don't see any error. What do you see as an error?
NULL simply means that the client name does not exist in any policy or in the image database.

Thanks. Its done now on master server.
When i run bpclntcmd -hn client name ffrom NBU client i am getting the error.
Should i update client host file?
Post the error, without seeing what the error is it's difficult to suggest anything. The output you put in your first post does not show any error at all.
What error? Please show us your command and the output.
Have you had a look at TECH50198 yet? It covers all bpclntcmd options - not just '-pn'.
