bpduplicate Problem -> Skipping copy 2 of backup id ......
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 1 comment
Hi,
is this a bug in NBU6.0MP3 ?
Max Image copies = 4
When i run a big bpduplicate job, i get in some case ( by some images ) this error message
Skipping copy 2 of backup id , is not required copy 1.
Now i take a look at this image:
bpimagelist -L -backupid | grep -i cop
i get this
Number of Copies: 2
Backup Copy: Standard (0)
Primary Copy: 1
Copy number: 1
Copy number: 1
Copy number: 2
Copy number: 2
And this is true. I need to migrste all this old images from the DLT70 Tapes to the LTO/3 Tapes. In 98% of all bpduplicate Jobs it will run proberly.....but in 2% i will not work ???

I think you may need to add -cn copy_number to the bpduplicate command since there already is a copy in existence. You need to tell it you want more than the one already existing and this should be able to be done with the " -cn copy_number "
check out the man page for bpduplicate.
