I've found that tool used in VBR to collect skipped files and errors is bperror command... Without "Skipped Files" and "Errors" jobs are collected very fast but when bperror is used jobs are collected very slow. I've found bperror output is slow.. It waits few seconds at the beginning and then displays data.. Did you had similar issues on Windows or different OS ?

Have a look at the performance counters

Start perfmon and add the counters for the queue length of the physical disk which netbackup is installed on. monitor the queue for a while and then run the bperror command - if the queue grows to a large value you might want to try defragmenting your disk or even change it for a faster disk (maybe some fast SAN-Disks).
