Brightmail 9.0.2

This issue has been solved. See solution.

 

I recently upgraded my Brightmail SPAM filter from 8.0 to
9.0.2 without any issues.  I am now getting emails blocked that are clean emails because of the following attachment.  winmail.dat.

 

This is hitting against the Archive Attachment list.

looking at the documentation available online it seems that the file (TNEF attachment) is properly categorized by SBG 9 so if you have a policy that acts on archives that would be the expected behaviour. Please have a look at these articles for detailed information:

So is there a way that I can let just these messages through
while still blocking other archived files? 
I obviously can’t control how other peoples email servers are

  Sorry I just found the TNEF

 

Sorry I just found the TNEF file type in the Archive
List.  I will remove this and see what
happens.
