    Can we re-store brightmail 9.2 backup on brightmail 9.5 beta version.

    Hello,

    You can try restore it from CLI,there'a command to force even if the Brightmail versions are not same. However as Federico said this may encounter some problems and this possibility is much more from 9.0.2 to 9.5 Beta. If you can try 9.01 from 9.02 it may be successfull restore. So do it on your own risk.

    Hi Ishaq,

     

    Backups can only be restored to the same SBG version. The following article mentions that and other useful information:

    At the moment restoring from different versions is not supported and may lead to problems.

    Since 9.5 is now released and appears solid, my recommendation would be to reload 9.0.2 and restore backup, then use CLI update commands.

    Once you install to beta, you can no longer upgrade.  Then your stuck going back to 9.0.2.
