  • 1.  Brightmail Gateway 8.0.2 -SYSLOG does not work!

    We are running the Brightmail Gateway v.8.0.2 (virtual appliance).  I have defined a remote logging host.  I turned all log entries to INFO.  I have seen 0 events in my syslog server.  This feature simply does not seem to work.

    Please let me know if you have any insight...

    And never had consistent results.  I'd open a case with Symantec.

     If the feature is there, I'm sure it was 'designed,' to work.  Thus, as the above poster has mentioned, perhaps open a support ticket to see if you did something wrong in the setup.

    If you dont want to wait on the phone for this non-critical issue, use the callback feature, or open up a support incident via the web (look at my sig)

    I haven't tested in 8.0.2 but I did with the first 8.0 release and I'm pretty positive nothing has changed, it was certainly working great for me...

    If I get some time over the next few days I'll try to test in 8.0.2.  Are you sure you have Syslog ports open etc...

    Hi,

    I have a couple of SBG 8.0.2 boxes running and just configured syslog on them and used Kiwi as my syslog server. Syslog on SBG works fine.
    You can check this KB article on how to configure syslog:
    service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/docid/2009042510545254
    I'm sure there's something missconfigured.
