  • 1.  Brightmail Gateway blocking winmail.dat as Zip

    How do I solve this problem?   Incoming email with no ZIP attachments are being blocked as Zip because they are in the Winmail.dat format.

    I want archives blocked, but not these winmail.dat files.

    Will removing the true file type of Microsoft Outlook do this?

    Winmail.dat is a Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) file. Check the attachment list it is being matched against and remove that true file type from the list.
