Brightmail performance degradation and errors

Hello.

We're running Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise v3.0, and randomly we get the following warnings:

 

 

Wednesday, Mar 07, 2012 12:09:26 PM CET Error Local Host MTA Deferring message: failed to filter message 
Wednesday, Mar 07, 2012 12:09:25 PM CET Error Local Host MTA bmiEndMessage: failed 
Wednesday, Mar 07, 2012 12:08:44 PM CET Warning Local Host Brightmail Engine Decomposition time out (the message has taken longer than the configured 60 seconds to decompose). 
Wednesday, Mar 07, 2012 12:08:37 PM CET Warning Local Host Brightmail Engine Decomposition time out (the message has taken longer than the configured 60 seconds to decompose). 
Wednesday, Mar 07, 2012 12:08:13 PM CET Warning Local Host Brightmail Engine Decomposition time out (the message has taken longer than the configured 60 seconds to decompose).
 
12 or 24 hours after getting the warnings, the product stops processing mail, and we've to reset the platform to get it working again.
 
Any ideas?

This looks like a resource issue. How much RAM does the appliance have?
