Endpoint Protection

Since I upgraded to 12.1 RU2, I have been receiving this alert: "Browse Network Error. Make sure that the Computer Browser service in Windows is started and running."

Why do I need to turn on the Browser service in Windows for SEP? I have my SEPM on Windows 2008 R2.

Are you trying to push upgrades from the SEPM to clients?

You need to enable on SEPM only, not on clients

No, I wasn't trying to use the Client Deployment Wizard. I have never seen this error before until I upgraded to RU2 and I was previously on RU1 MP1. Is this error new for RU2?

Also, why is this an "error?" It should be set as a warning. What if I dont want to use the CDW? I wouldn't need to turn on the Browser service at all.

Per the KB, it applies to ru2 only so looks to be new. I know CDW performance was greatly improved in this version so perhaps this was one of the changes
