Browser Selector Object not re-directing on Win7 with VIE8

Hello All,

We are testing our IE8 virtual layer on WIN7 and have found that the BSO does not redirect sites to the vIE8 layer.  The Base IE is specified as IE9 and the xml has all the correct paths entered.  The IE8 layer was created from the LDF supplied.

Has one come across this issue before and found a resolution?

Thanks

  2. Layer Definition Tool Version.
  3. Layer Definition File version.

I'm having a similar problem with IE8 being the default broswer on Win7 and using IE7 virtualized using Symantrec LDF and set in layer as my apps dependency. My application is not being redirected to use IE7 and instead uses the default broswer, IE8

Can you confirm the service is running? Open ManageBSO tool and you should see the status of luancher on the bottom right. Make sure this is running. Also, ensure the rule for redirection is set correctly and active.

@Wadders,

I have seen this in SP8 build with Virtual IE6 and IE8/9 on the base.

Change the below registry

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\WorkspaceVirtualization\SWVBSO\UsePublicPageHeuristic = 0, reboot, test browser redirection and post the results.
