    Hi

    I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 file server. When I deploy SEP 12.1.1101.401 (RU1 MP1) to this server and reboot it afterwards,¨the server BSODs with a error in tcpip.sys. After disconnecting all NICs from the network, the server boots up correctly. If SEP is removed, the server works correctly. The whole scenario is reproducable.

    An analysis of the minidump shows that the symtdi.sys driver creates a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. I've attached the analysis to this post.

    On the same server, Backup Exec 2010 R3 is installed. Removing the NIC drivers and reinstalling them didn't help.

    Can anyone out there help me to resolve this issue??

    Kind regards from switzerland;
    martin

    There are a few cases of this occuring with the Firewall component of SEP on Windows machines.

    Do you know what the NIC model is?

    Possibly a newer version of the driver might help.

    If it is a Broadcom or Intl chip, try loading the latest drivers and not ones provided by the MB manufacturer but rather from the chipset manufacturer.

    No. My Server is running Windows Server 2003, not 2008. So the fix doesn't apply to my system.

    its a HP NC373i networks card. I've already removed the nic drivers, rebooted, and reinstalled them again. Doesn't help.

    What components do you have installed?

    Start with only installing the AV component.

    BSOD's  you will need  COMPLETE memory dump and then open a case with support to provide this dump for review. Below is documentation on how to configure this dump.

    Your best bet is a call to support with the full dump available.
