Nope - u need BE 2010

Nope - u need BE 2010 - if you open teh 2010 Sofwtare Compatibuility List and search for "Desktop Agent" you'll find Windows 7 listed (from some reason we did not have a similar section in the 12.0 list making it confusing - but 12.0 was released before Windows 7

Thanx

Ok thank you, but I need another question answered not related to this query, can you perhaps answer it for me Colin?

All my machines suddenly do not want to perform incremental backups of Outlook. this includes Windows XP and Windows Vista machines. I have recently installed Service pack 4 and 3 other patches for Backup Exec. Any idea why this would happen?

Not what I asked

My other machines with Windows XP and Windows Vista are not doing incremental backups of Outlook PST files. I realise that Windows 7 is not support under BU exec 12, but why do I have the same symptoms on Windows XP and Windows Vista?

No error mesages

I am not getting error messages. The agent just copies the entire PST file (in some cases more than and well over 1GB in size) instead of message level increments.

if your 12.0 server was

if your 12.0 server was originally an upgrade from 10D there rarely seen condition where the registry keys in the DLO database get stuck with legacy Veritas instead of Symantec values - if it is this you will need to contact support with a formal case for assistence. - note this is only an issue if you were originally running DLO 9.x or 10.x it will not happen if you started with 12.0

OK so that just confirmed you

OK so that just confirmed you don't have the rare issue that we are aware of - you can log/debug the DLO CLient on one of the menus in the client (as long as your DLO profile lets end users open the client) - might be worth turning this on with Outlook closed and then open Outlook and make a change to a PST to see if it captures anything - however other than that you may need to receive formal support and open a support case.
