  • 1.  Bug in Import Package Java applet on HF7?

    Posted Jan 05, 2016 08:44 AM

Wondering if anyone else who has upgraded to HF7 can confirm the following bad behavior, as I'm seeing this on multiple Notification Servers...

When importing a new package, click on Add and select a package or file.

    ImportPackage.jpg

Then click on Add again to add an additional file from another location. Before you are even given the opportunity to select the additional file, the first file "disappears" from the Import dialog and if you then select the additional file only that second file is included in the package.

I should note that in the past, the Add selection dialog also defaulted to the last selected folder and no longer seems to retain that path either.

Is this some kind of bug in the new Activity Center HF7?

Should mention that if you click Next after adding the first file, let that upload and then add the second file, everything works as expected. It's only when trying to add additional files from the initial Import Package dialog that this occurs.

Looks like this also comes into play when editing an existing package to swap out files. It looks like the java applet is triggering a reload of the dialog and thus losing the changes since they aren't "committed" yet. Anyone else able to try this? (I'm just opened a ticket with Symantec as I'm seeing this on both our of Notification Servers, but I'd like to get some independent corroboration.)

For anyone else who might be experiencing this, I opened a case with Support. Backline was able to reproduce and is actively working on a pointfix.

    Hi Jared,

we are also on Hf7 and have this issue too :-( We have also the problem, when uploading files > 2GB only partial upload is happening, very annoying. We have a 4.1GB install.wim from Windows 10 and we are not able to upload it. The upload says everthing is fine, but when I look into the Software Library the file is not completely exitsting, sometimes 2,2 GB or 3.1, differs by each upload. I will try to split the file and merge it under WinPE, only solution so far for me.

    Greetings

    Robert

    Hi Robert,

The pointfix Jared mentioned is publicly available in the following TechNote:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH234003

This resolves a couple of different issues with the Java applet including the one Jared mentioned above.

    Best Regards,
