This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi guys

I observed that if I click myself (as a trusted advisor) as the one who provided the solution, I do not get any points for it, and my solution count does not increase.
I know that the one who posted a forums discussion does not get points when he choses himself as the one who "solved" the topic, and that's OK, but as a TA, I think it should count.

Reason:

I often seek trough discussions where no solution was chosen by the original author after about 2 weeks.
I then reply to the discussion, asking the original poster to mark it as solved, if it is.
After another 2 weeks, I revisit the topic, and if no answer is chosen, and I can clearly see that my/another's post was the answer, I mark it.as such. (And I'd like to get points for it as well... :) )

Cheers
Michel

Michel, I too will look

Michel,

I too will look through post to mark the obvious ones as solved.  I think I try not to mark my own post as the solution for the same reason.  I think you can ping Swathi and have her mark the post solved. Or ping me and I will mark it solved.  :)

That we are monitoring ourselves.

Cheers,

Tony Sterling

Or feel free to ping me. I'll also mark it as solved for you. (Right now it is an "all-or-nothing thing.")

Thanks,

Yeah, this is the way the

Yeah, this is the way the point system was designed to prevent gaming. Authors who mark their posts as solutions do not get any points rewarded. So in cases where you marked your posts as solutions, please feel free to IM me and I'll adjust your points as needed.

After all, we are *TRUSTED* Advisors which prooved themselves as trustworthy... ;)

@Tony / Leslie / Swathi:

Another "problem":

I have asked Tony to mark 3 of my posts as answers.
I did get points for them, bit I think my "Solutions" count did not increase...

Is that an error?

 When you post your question?

When you post your question? then whatever answer solves your question you will mark that as solution. However if you forget to mark that solution. So either the owner of the discussion can mark it or the Admins or Trusted advisor can mark it.
