The video tutorial Creating and Installing an Automation Folder in Ghost Solution Suite 3.1 said to:

    1. Use Boot Disk Creator to create an automation folder configuration and then

    2. Right click on the folder and Create Partition Installer (that creates and foldername.exe in the eXpress\BWPkgs\WinPE 10.0\x64 directory) and then

    3. Right click on the computername and Install Automation Folder which brings a dropdown that lists the configuration created in Step 1

Now, I thought that it would install the installer that was created in Step 2, but it didn't! It created a new AF_foldername.exe in the eXpress\AutoFolderPkgs\configurationname\X64 directory and installed that.

Can someone please clarify for me? Am I wasting my time and disk space on Step 2?

    Thanks

    Hello,

When you run the create partition installer this creates the BWPkgs image as standalone so that you can deploy this automation folder using a distribute software job.

If you right click on a machine ->advanced->Install Automation Folder, this process must create its own standalone automation installer (saving to AF_foldername.exe) before it can install on machines.

You should choose one method over the other, I prefer manually creating the partition installer and you can then deploy the automation partition in a distribute software task.
