  • 1.  C++ redist files required

    Hi

    Need some help with this issue please.

    I am deploying a managed SEP11 client install to some Windows 2008 R2 server core computers (domain controllers).  The install does not start, and in the event logs I see this error:

    'You must install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable files before you install the Symantec files by running vcredist_x64.exe'

    A few questions around this:

    1. Are there any options or command switches required when running vcredist_x64.exe on a server core computer?

    2. Is a reboot required afterwards?

    3. Is the installation going to have any impact on the domain controller functionality - what does the vcredist_x64.exe actually change when its installed?

    Any advice appreciated...

    Thanks

    I thought that was part of window update. Have you check your window update lately?
