Question
No only SEP 11.05. We have an SEP11.05 server and client to match. Is this a known issue?
Is this fixed in RU6?
Try the following steps Go to
Try the following steps
Go to command prompt, type wbemtest and press enter.
Click on Connect
Replace " root\default " with " root\securitycenter " and click Connect.
You will be returned to the original screen, now click the Enum Classes button, leave the Superclass info box that appears as is (empty) and click OK
On the Query Results screen, highlight AntivirusProduct and click Delete.
Close the Query windows and exit wbemtest.
If AntiVirus product is installed, then you will need to uninstall it, reboot and reinstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection. Uninstall third party Antivirus programs if present.
Install the latest Version of SEP which is SEP RU6 or RU6a

Hello, Just for
Hello,
Just for information...I noticed something similar.....
After upgrading my SEPM from RU5 to RU6a, without any problem. Created a single file package for 32-bit windows platform. Installation on Windows xp (sp3) and Windows 7 also went fine. After restarting XP machine I got Microsoft C++ error message, but not on windows 7. On restarting XP machines 2nd time did not produce any error....
This test windows machines had sp3 installed and all the security patches, and SEP was the first application. (firewall disabled). Communication between SEPM and this client is fine too.
It could have been due to some sequence of loading services, as in the error message, there was no information about program and it displayed "Program: C:\..." only.
Sincerely,
Similar problem, different thread...
Download and install from here. Install on problem client and see if problem persists.

May give you another error afterwards, requiring a "repair" from add/remove programs to fix the next problem
Hellow
Are you having issue with Win 7 or 2008 or Vista client? - Very important to know!
It is very unusual that you
It is very unusual that you see that issue on Windows XP, generally it happens if you have Windows Vista/7/2008.
However, as you mentioned that its happening on XP, please check following:
1. Did you upgrade from SAV to SEP?
- If yes, go to control panel -> Check for AMS component if it exist. If upgraded from SAV but doesn't have AMS installed in Control panel/add&remove programs. Then upgrade didn't complete well
- If no, SEP installation didn't complete well.
In any cases, how did you install SEP client? Through Remote desktop or push install?
If using remote desktop, please reinstall the client using Console mode (Start ->Run ->type "mstsc /console")
Try to repair the installation from control panel, if issue persist, run cleanwipe and perform clean install again.
Please Mark on the solution that worked for you.
Hello Everyone, It is
Hello Everyone,
It is unusual, but yes it happened on windows xp. It was neither push or through remote desktop. But Raunak, you might right to point that may be it did not finish installation. It was a clean install and there was no SAV or AMS component on the client.
I had created a single file installation package and copied file to local hard drive on client and ran setup.exe. The package had a "restart after install" under install setting. Then new package without restart setting worked fine and error did not show again.
Sincerely,
