Im playing around with the long (for us atleast) awaited MDM 7.2 release but instantly ran into some problems.

When trying to register a C2DM account on google Im faced with the following text:

Important: C2DM has been officially deprecated as of June 26, 2012. This means that C2DM has stopped accepting new users and quota requests. No new features will be added to C2DM. However, apps using C2DM will continue to work. Existing C2DM developers are encouraged to migrate to the new version of C2DM, called Google Cloud Messaging for Android (GCM). See the C2DM-to-GCM Migration document for more information. Developers must use GCM for new development.

As far as I can see the GCM is completely different from C2DM and I cannot use that for the MDM.

Han anyone else ran into this, or heard anything from Symantec about the matter?

Google announced that C2DM was being depricated at the Google IO conference last week.  They are replacing it with GCM (google cloud messaging).  Symc will be updating SMM very soon to work with GCM.  I believe the code changes aren't very major, so hopefully it shouldn't take them long.

Symantec Mobile Management 7.2 MR1 is now released supporting GCM.
