Can DLP prevent write to Unencrypted USB Only
Created: 14 Nov 2011 | 2 comments
We are evaluating products One of the theings we want to be able to do is allow senstive info to be written to USB sticks, but only if that device is encrypted. Is that possible? If so must it be encrypted with a Symantec product.

Are you asking can DLP Endpoint see unencrypted data or does the data have to be encrypted before DLP Can see it?
DLP Endpint can see unencrytped data being copy/pasted or moved or saved to a USB device as long as it shows up as removable media.
Let me know if I didn't answer the question correctly

Hi JJV,
You cant do such way that DLP will allow to encrpted device. It will just allow or block the same as per policy and data defined.
yah but you can whitlist your USB devices which is Encyrpted since DLP can only also allow to be copy those divices taht are whitlisted in System->Agent Config-> Device ......
