Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition

I'm new to Symantec Endpoint for Small Business.

Is the Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition Client workable as a standalone anti-virus protections software or does it NEED the Manager for it to work?

Based on the system requirements, my current environment will not support the Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition Manager but for consistency with other another project group, we are considering the Client.

Any inputs is greatly appreciated.

Manager is a console not an AV software, its used to manage clients and set policies

SEP client is the actuall AV software, this can be installed without Manager.

Once the file is downloaded from the https://fileconnect.symantec.com

extract CD1

open the folder SEP

run the setup.exe; this has 3 components; Antivirus, Proactive threat , Network threa protection.

You can insatll all 3 or just AV; its all upto you.

Does Symantec Endpoint Protection supports Cisco MARS for event reporting?

How is the configurations?

Is it necessary to install Endpoint Protection Manager for event reporting to Cisco MARS to work?
