Can EV index user-defined fields in Outlook?

Hi,

One of our customers is searching for a email archiving solution. I gave a presentation/demo of EV 2007, resulting in an 'as good as' convinced customer. There is just one specific functionality the customer needs. The customer works with user-defined fields in outlook. So, in their outlook interface there are additional columns visible (next to the 'from', 'subject', 'date', ... fields) where they add some category information for future filtering.

Question: can this data inside the added user-defined colums be indexed via EV?

A primary test I did in a demo environment resulted in the fact that the data was not searchable via the 'Search Vaults' web-interface.

Has anyone experience with this?

Thanks,

Rudy

Rudy, you may want to check out the Custom Filtering and properties chapter - Configuring Customer properties section - in the Install and Configuring, this may be what you are looking for.
