  • 1.  Can Ghost 8.3 capture an image of Windows 2003 Server?

Specifically, I want to capture an image of a Windows 2003 Server using Ghost 8.3; put the image on another server temporarily, and then repartition the source server and clone the image back to the source server.  Is that doable?  If so, is there documentation out there for it?

If the two servers are identical from a hardware perspective, then you have a sporting chance of doing this.
However, what sort of repartitioning are you trying to achieve?
There are plenty of utilities out there, some free, which can handle partition resizing without having to clone images.
So give us a more detailed description of your setup and what you want to achieve, and maybe we can save you some work.

    Thanks for the help...
It is one Dell PowerEdge 2950 server with 2-73GB hard drives in a Raid 1 configuration
    It is partitioned as C: 10GB and D: 73GB
I would like to colapse the two partitions into one large C: partition
Of course without reinstalling the OS or any of the applications.
    Is that doable?

I have  Dell PowerEdge 2850 server running MS Server 2003.  The server hash one drive partitioned: C: 12 GB, K: 130GB and P: 160GB.  I am running out of space on the C: partition and want to capture an image of the hard drive then use Partition Magic to repartion C: to have 50 GB, K: to 130GB and P: to 120GB.

Will Ghost 8.3 capture the image of the server as a failsafe measure?

If so, how do I make a USB boot file on a USB Flash drive?
