  • 1.  Can I exclude a server directory from Auto-Protect scanning?

    Posted Feb 20, 2013 09:27 AM

I know that I can exclude directories from scheduled scans, but what about Auto-Protect?  We have a server with an app that the vendor is recommending we turn off Auto-Protect to keep from causing problems.  As far as I know, I didn't think it was possible.  Is it?

    Thanks,
    Mark

If you specify it than yes

In the exception policy set "Specify the type of scan that excludes this folder" to Security Risk when you setup the folder exclusions and specify type as auto-protect

    Hi,

Create a new group and move that server into that group.

You can create a custom Virus and Spyware policy & uncheck auto protect.

Apply this policy to the new group.

However it's not recommended to disable Auto protect because if you disabled Auto protect it will automatically turn off SONAR & Download insight as well.

Also you can try centralized exceptions.
