Can I install altiris agent and PcAnywhere agent on workgroup systam ???

This issue has been solved. See solution.

In my environment there are some system which are in network but not in domain.

My question is :

  • Can I install altiris agent in that systems from server?.
  • Can I install PcAnywhere agent in that system ?
  • If yes how can I take control of that system through PcAnywhere.

 

Please help me out.........

Yes you can install Altiris client on Workgroup system.

Yes you can install the Symantec management agent on the workgroup machine.All you need to do is to enter the local admin account credentials instead of Application identity credentials on the Agent install screen.

Most of the times this will fail,you may try installing the agent through script in that case.

Once the agent is installed you can install the pca plugin through the normal plugin install policy,then you can specify either local NT account or PCA account in the PCA settings page.

Yes, it’s possible but please confirmed the local admin account has been same.
