Have you tried, report templates, backup, job browser, tabular backup report, then you edit the report, select client filer and filter on client name on your databases/clients, then save report. I know this works for last version 7.5.0.5.

Is this what you are looking for ?

and i cannot upgrade to latest version now

(sorry for late reply as i was on vacation)

Easiest way is to have 13 polciies for your exchange databases - so a policy for each database

A simple report will then be clear about which database is in included in each backup for the exchange client

The other advantage to doing this is that if all databases are in one policy and one fails then none of the databases get their logs truncated but if each has its own policy it does not affect the others.

As far as i know there are no reports in ops center that provide the file list - you would need a bpdbjobs report for that (and extract from it what you need)

Hope this helps

one poilcy for each data base is not possible for us , as customer not want to have soo many policies

and if for example we have made like this ,still in ops center report which column filter  we have to select except JOB Directory? as job directory shows very detailed report for each data base

and as u says that "no reports in ops center that provide the file list"

so how i will show the report to my boss, fro each data base

i have gone through command bpdpjobs , but i have not see any  option of each data base report for my exchange server

Not helped

bpdbjobs -report - allcolumns

will give you all details of every job and within this will be the path backed up (and hence the database name)

It pipes out an awful lot so for my customers i create a custom vbs script that extracts from this what is needed based on strContents and arrFields and then re-pipe that to a csv file.

It is not easy to get exactly what you want from this and does take a little scripting and further tidying up later as some jobs will have multiple paths which includes the SetSnapID etc.

My suggestion on multiple policies was so that a basic report from NetBackup itself would show the DataBase involved if you named your policy appropriately - so the report just needs to show client and policy name, not the path

Hoep this helps

well Marks Solution

i ran the command bpdbjobs -report - allcolumns

but still not showing the database name, and the following line u wrote ,i donot understand

It pipes out an awful lot so for my customers i create a custom vbs script that extracts from this what is needed based on strContents and arrFields and then re-pipe that to a csv file.

u wrote its not easy , but will it be possible?

can u give me steps?

as i have to generate report regarding databse name for our government customer

The bpbdjobs -report -allcolumns should pipe out everything that you see in activity monitor for ever job on a new line

Within this you should find the path to the database and hence its name.

Due to issues with a single failed database causing all databases to not truncate their logs almost all of my customers have several policies for Exchange which makes life easy.

So policy named ExDAGDB01 is clear what it has backed up and so makes any standard backup report work for what you need.

An alternative is to at least add each database as a new stream within your policy and that way you are guaranteed to get the paths picked up in the bpdbjobs report.

For my customers I use a simple batch file that pipes out certain outputs and then analyses it using a vbs script - it is possible and is done on a daily basis but is part of a consultancy service so i cannot just share it all on here - sorry - it took me many hours to perfect it all to give the near perfect backup report that is totally automated.

The only simple solution to get what you want is to have a policy per database, which is best practice anyway

Thanks of lot to all

i have contacted symantec Technical team , and my problem resolved

they have installed Ops Analytics and use Job type =Snapshot Option

they have selected the option in Report Templates > Tabular Backup Report Modify Display Option , Job Type and Job Directory and Job Status, and it is then showing only 13  data bases Result that either successful or not.and not showing 85 pages report, only showing one page report

In Job Type it will show SnapShot when configuring for Exchange, and will give report for each snapshot which was made for Each database backup for exchange

What version of OpsCenter Analytics did they install?  That path you indicated doesn't exist in my version of OpsCenter.  If it's that easy, I'd like to create a similar report for my Exchange admins.

I can't find the "Job Type=Snapshot option; was this in the OpsCenter configuration or in the report setup?

The closest path I see to anything like this in 7.5.0.5 is:

Report Templates > Job Browser > Tabular Backup Report

I can click on "Edit Report" but there is no "Modify Display Option", maybe you are using a different language in OpsCenter?

From there, none of the options includes a "Job Type".  I can filter on the Policy Type of MS-Exchange-Server.  That does give me just my Exchange backups.

In the Tabular Report Properties page, are you saying you just select Job Type, Job Directory, and Job Status fields to be included?

Hi

find the snapshots which will clear your all questions

Awesome!  I never would have thought to try the Snapshot job type for that filter.  We don't actually use Snapshots, and I thought this field would only pull in the jobs using the value in the "Type" field in the Java GUI.  Obvisouly, that's not the case.

Thanks for finding that!
