Can I manage a 10.2. client from a 10.1.6.6000 Parent Server
Our organization currently has a Symantec Antivirus Server which monitor the Symantec AV clients. I am the administrator of this server. The Parent Server and all of the clients are currently running Symantec Antivirus version 10.1.6.6000. We are getting ready to deploy Microsoft VISTA to some of our desktops and I understand that SAV 10.1.6.6000 is not Vista compatible, but SAV 10.2x is.
My question is, can I monitor SAV clients, running Vista and SAV 10.2, from my SAV 10.1.6.6000 Parent Server? I monitor the clients via Symantec System Center.
Also, the VISTA images that I am creating already contains SAV 10.2 client, which is installed as an Unmanaged system. If I copy the GRC.dat file from the VPHOME directory of my existing SAV 10.1.6.6000 parent server, into the appropriate directory on my SAV 10.2 client, running VISTA, will I be able see that client and monitor it from SSC?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

Thank you for the quick response.Just to summarize the situation and make sure I understood correctly, the final answer is no.The parent server has to be the same or higher version than that of the client.
