Can I sort the job log by the time each file was backed up?

Created: 04 Dec 2013 • Updated: 04 Dec 2013 | 4 comments

I'm currently running Backup Exec 2012 version 14.0 rev 1798 with SP3 installed on Windows 2008. I have job logging set to "Summary Information, directories, files and file details". However when I view the job log, it is sorted alphabetically by file name. How do I get it to sort based on time each file was backed up? Our server is hanging and crashing intermittantly and it would be helpful to know if it is crashing while backing up a particular file. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

You can try copying the data out and manipulating with another application, but BE will not allow this natively.

Thanks!

Have you ever done this before? If so can you point me in some direction as to how to export the data and then organize it somehow? Thanks again.

Maybe a Failed Job Report would be helpful.  Check page 606 of the Backup Exec 2012 Admin guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5211

That report shows the error code for failed jobs, duration of job, etc. But it doesn't show the last file backed up. Surely there has to be some way to display the info I need.
