I have a closed LAN that has workstations installed with XP 64-bit.  I did some research and found that I can update the 64-bit clients unless I use LUA to update the clients by using Liveupdate.  The only problem is that all the workstations are on a closed LAN.  Is their a way to update the LUA application without connecting to the Symantec Liveupdate servers?  We have SAVCE/SSC installed on a W2K3 server updating all the 32-bit clients.

Last 2 year back me too was facing the same issue with definition update on Windows 64 bit machines. Idea for LUAU is good but it never worked for me :-(

Hence finally setup SEP 11.0 server and manage all my 64bit server and they are currently getting update with the latest definitions on regular interval.

The best thing is you have to go with LU Admin.

Install the LUA on the machine from where you would be downloading the definitions.

Once done, Distribute these definitions to the server where the clients can take it from, by creating the distribution centers. Configuration help is available in the admin pdf at the ftp from where you can also download the LUA 2.2

If yuo don't have a management server in the closed network, you can export liveupdt.hst file that will point to the liveupdate server in closed network from LUAdmin and copy that to the clients Liveupdate install folder.
