    Hello,

What Version of SEP are you carrying??

Are you using SEP 11.x OR SEP 12.1??

If incase, you are carrying SEP 12.1, then to let you know SEP 12.1 does not use IIS and uses Apache.

Incase, you are carrying SEP 11.x, then you may to Uninstall SEPM and Reinstall SEPM.

And incase, you have a Backup of SEPM, perform the Disaster Recovery

    Hope that helps!!

If you're using 11.x, I would try reinstalling IIS, then repairing your SEPM installation through Add or Remove Programs.

Mine is SEPM 11.X but the problem is that i dont have a backup nor CD with me for the time being. Any way to reconfigure IIS manually. I have installed IIS back to the server but need to make the connection to SEPM know.

    Hello,

Run the Management Server Configuration Wizard and check what happens??

Usually, it does not ask for the installation files when Running the Management Server Configuration Wizard

    Hope that helps!!

Run the Management Server Configuration Wizard -- you should not need a backup or a CD, but you will need to know your passwords.

I tried running management server configuration wizard and took the option of embedded database, Still Iam not able to logon to SEPM console. Also in the IIS websites list Iam not seeing the symantec. Is there any use with the server key backup??  It still gives the following error message when i try to login to SEPM console.

''Failed to connect to the sever.

Make sure that the server is running and your session has timed out.

If you can reach the server but cannot log on, make sure you have provided the correct credentials.

If your experiencing network issue, contact network administrator ''

As I mentioned earlier I don't have the SEPM CD with me to repair. Repair requires the installation CD know.

Install the IIS and repair the SEPM and restart once and try to login with correct user name and password and check  if not

take backup and uninstall the SEPM console and SEP client restart the machine and install the IIS and install the fresh copy of SEPM console

Hi everyone..... I would like to thank everyone who supported me.... The repairing itself configured the IIS, so i did'nt have to reinstall SEPM. Now the only problem is that the NETWORK THREAT PROTECTION doesnot get updated from the date the problem occured. Any idea bout that??? antivirus and proacitve threats are getting updated in all the clients( win 7 64-bit) . In my server symantec client everything is getting updated even the n/w threat protection.

    Glad to have helped!

Do you mean that NTP (on SEP client computers) doesn't update even though the SEPM is showing up to date? I would suggest opening a new thread for your new issue.
