Can latest Symantec encryption desktop work with yosemite now, if only for use in mounting PGPdisk volumes (NO whole disk encryption)

Currently, the latest version of Symantec encryption desktop is listed as working with mac os 10.10.0 *if* you turn off core storage, and not being compatible with 10.10.1 due to the WDE driver not loading.

If a user is OK with not using whole disk encryption and just needs to be able to mount and read (at least) or read and write (better) PGP disk volumes (.pgd) will the latest version of Symantec Encryption work with 10.10.1?

The problem with 10.10.1 is listed as being that the WDE driver doesn't load, so it seems if a user does not need WDE it may be ok to use.

    Anyone knowledgeable, please inform. Thanks-

    John

From what I have seen, the .pgd files should load normally, it is only the whole disk encryption driver that fails to load or install properly.  I have had a few customers report being able to mount and use the .pgd files without issue on 10.10.1.

Ok just to confirm, I upgraded to 10.10.2 actually, and .pgds mount properly. So if you dont need to use WDE you can use the current version of symantec encryption desktop for other purposes including mounting pgds.
