Dear Folks

I have this licensing and technical issue: one of my client is willing to buy NBU, he prefers NBU ENT Svr+ ENT clients, but some servers in his architecture don't need Ent Svr clients, and he wants Std clients for them. Will that work? if so is there any specific configuration?

A quick response will be appreciated.

Yes that will work.  As long

Yes that will work.  As long as the media/master server is higher than the clients, it's fine.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

The Enterprise Client is

The Enterprise Client is basically the regular client with advanced features to do snapshots and off-host backups, and support the hypervisors, etc.

All of the clients can be used together in your backup system without any trouble.

The standard client is the easiest to install and configure, just load the agent, enter the backup client name.  If the network is setup correctly, you can get a host properties on that client and setup your basic file system backup.
