Can not backup SQL database
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
This is for BackupExec 10.d
We have a new server (windows sever 2003 r2) with SQL 2005 Workgroup Edition installed on it. We are using the backupexec SQL agent. It is unable to backup ANY of the databases in SQL
It gives two errors per DB, such as:
Database SYS was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item HQ2\SYS in use - skipped
This is backupexec version 10.1 5629
installed updates: SP2

Is it a remote or a local backup?
The server on which SQL 2005 is installed, does it have a 64 bits operating system?
it is a local backup. not 64 bit. Just regular windows 2003 server R2
Check to see that the files referenced in http://support.veritas.com/docs/280204 are indeed on the media server
