Can one computer on a network use BESR 8.5 to make a recovery point for another computer on the network?

Yet another newbie question here.  I will be running BESR 8.5 Desktop edition on a peer-to-peer network that consists of two computers (running Win XP Home) and one NAS device (Netgear ReadyNAS).

Can I install BESR solely on computer A and make a complete backup, including operating system, of computer B to the NAS?

Or do I need to install BESR locally on each computer I want to backup completely, including operating system?

Thanks in advance.

It must be installed on each

It must be installed on each computer you want to backup.  There is no alternative to this in BESR.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

That's correct - you need

That's correct - you need BESR on all machines that you want to backup. You can install just the agent on computer 'B' and use the full BESR install on computer 'A' to create/monitor the backup job.

Please mark thread as solved if you consider this to have answered your question(s)

You could.............

Another alternative would be to get a license for the Server version, which would provide you that ability. Then, buy Desktop licenses for the other workstations you want to backup.
