  • 1.  Can RU2 SEPM manage RU3 clients?

I am looking to quickly upgrade a small subset of their 20k
SEP clients to resolve an major issue fixed in RU3.
The upgrade of their SEPMs to RU3 would trigger a longer implementation cycle.
Can they safely manage their RU3 clients with the RU2 SEPMs?
No issues with schema changes, etc?

Yes, SEPM 12.1 can manage all versions of 12.1 (newer or older), although it is always recommended to have both on the same version so all features can be utilised.

Schema changes would not affect the clients themselves, only the DB but since your not upgrading the SEPM, you will be fine.

    Hello,

    Yes, SEP 12.1 RU2 manager can manage a SEP 12.1 RU3 client.

However, new features in RU3 cannot be managed until you upgrade the manager.

Check this Article on What is new in SEP 12.1 RU3.

if the client has fix in SEP 12 ru3 and only few clients to be managed then you can install SEP 12 ru3 on client.

However consider to upgrading the SEPM to the latest.

Is there any feature in 12.1.2 that is now disabled or discontinued in 12.1.3 ?
