    Hi Dhasan,

     

    No, until now only a windows Client can only be promted as GUP. it can be either a desktop O/S (XP,7,8,10) or a Server OS(2003,2008,2012). May be symantec might introduce the featue of promoting a Linux client as a GUP in the future releases.

    Currently the source for SEP for Linix client is LUA and Symantec Liveupdate Servers..

    If iwindows client configured as GUP , will linux box get update from GUP?

    No at the moment Linux clients can get its updates only from LUA or direct symantec live update servers.

    Ideally, the antivirus for Linux update manager from the console. The product SEP for Linux lacks improvements in the forms of installation and upgrade.

    You can configure the SEPM as a reverse proxy so it can provide content to Linux clients (Mac clients as well):

    SEPM can be configured as a reverse proxy
