  • 1.  Can SEPM 12.1.2015.2015 manage client of 12.1 RU4 or RU5

    Our SEPM version is of 12.1.2015.2015, can it manage the SEP client of version 12.1 RU4 or RU5? Any problem or difference?

    We are using LUA server to download definition, do we need to create a new set distribution job for these clients?

    Yes, it will be able to manage any version of 12.1 in fact, older or newer.

    For LUA, you need to make sure you download the RU5 defs.

    when you do the upgrade you will first upgrade the SEPM console. Thats a clear indication that Manager is backward compatible and can manage all the previous versions.

    Just make sure that your LUadmin is configured to download all previous versions of SEPM in your environment. when you download the catalog check whatever is needed for your environement.

    Yes it will..

    For your LUA, make sure you add the Ru5 to download & distribute.

    --> Yes, it can. But it's not recommended.

    It's always recommended to have SEPM and SEP clients on the same version.Latest release provides many other enhancements and improvements.

    For RU5 clients you need to set distribution job for these clients.
