Can ServiceDesk tell me how many emails it sends in a day?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi there,

I would like to have a report/count of how many emails ServiceDesk sends in a day/week/month.  Is this possible?  I'm on ServiceDesk 7.1.1.

Thanks very much!

If you're on 7.1... you have access to the flows and can modify them. This reporting requirement would require a bit of work, however. The hard part is making sure you find ALL instances of Send Email components in the SD flows.

You need a place to log emails being sent; there are a number of ways to do this. You could create a table in the PM database to log all "email sends" (a lot easier to report against). Another option is to log all "email sends" to a file (harder to report against)

You could then write a SQL report in ProcessManager to bring back the count of all mails per day/week/whatever (this is assuming you go the SQL table route)

This can probably also be done on the mail server itself... mail servers usually log all sent emails. How you report against the mail server is a hurdle to this route.
