  • 1.  Can SMP 'Uninstall Antivirus' Task be used to uninstall SEP 12?

    We are upgraded from SEP 11 to 12 and exploring the various methods to deploy.  Within Symantec Management Console we have successfully used the "Migrate computers to latest SEP" task.

    Now I know occassionally I may have to uninstall then reinstall 12 to troubleshoot issues.  I have created and successfully used the "Install Symantec Endpoint Protection....." task.  Now I working on using the "Uninstall Antivirus" task and even though it appears to run successfully it is not removing 12?

    Can this "Uninstall Antivirus" task be used to uninstall SEP?

    Yes, it removes SEP, as well as other products listed here:

    It doesn't specify versions in the article so it's probably talking about SEP11 and SEP Small Business (which was the original SEP 12). Rick, I think you are talking about SEP 12.1, correct? I doubt the script takes that into account, as 12.1 was just released recently.
