Hi All,

i am going to deploy altiris agent on some clients, what i need to know if i can create a MSI Package containing the inventory package i have on my notification server.. so this MSI Will Install the Agent and the Inventory Package instead of Downloading the Package from the NS or the Package server after installing the Agent...because i want to avoid a network overload...

deploying the altiris client

You don't have to create a .msi. Use Wise Script and use the command 'Install File' have it copy to a temp location on the client and then on the next line call the .exe that it dropped.

I have a sample script which can do this and I already uploaded here. It's listed under Altiris Agent GPO. You can download it and use it because it doesn't have much customization.

You can use "VBScript" or "Wise script" with suitable command-line switches else you can go for creating MSI file.
