I see a ton of articles and pointers on backing up the DB.  However, what exactly do I need to backup on the NS itself?  I'm certain there must be an article that my Google-fu is failing me on.

Does this not exist, or did I ask when everyone was on holiday?  smiley

I asked support this last week since the SP2 upgrade docs say to backup NS and the db.  Support replied that the db is good enough.  I really wish there was some way to export the NS policy settings page somehow even if it was just read only... the SP2 backup documents tell you to note various settings.. but there are a lot there to note that even screenshots are tedious.

For those upgrading to SP2, most or all of my upgrade policies were disabled so I had to go back in and enable them before agents started to update.

As there's so little that's not held in the database.

You could write a batch file using the ImportExportutil (D:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\Tools) to export anything not in the database.

Or run NSDiag.exe from the same directory and see if the output is useful.

Well, for one, I'm relatively sure the software library has to be backed up.  That one's pretty darn important.  Anything else?
