Can you deduct task from MSMQ?
Hello all,
In the environment I am managing, a colleague has done a reconfiguration of Journal Mailboxes and tasks. Before doing this, he has not made sure to let the MSMQ's clear out etc.Mailboxes have been moved to other Exchange servers, tasks have been moved to other EV-servers etc. I had double entries in the in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table, which I fixed. I now have some queues that have items in them from over a week old (mainly J1 queues)
Obviously, as the tasks are gone, I cannot for sure tell which queue belongs to which task.
The J1 queue messages do not show to which mailbox they belong.
Is it possible to determine which task (or mailbox) a queue belonged looking at the MSMQ id?
Example:
I have a queue called: EVSERVERNAME\Private$\Enterprise Vault Exchange Journaling Task for EXCHANGESERVER 110210162940 J1
Is it somewhere noted in SQL to which task this MSMQ belonged?
(I do realize that I might need to set the tasks on this server in reportmode, let the queues clear, stop taskcontroller, and then delete the queues that do not empty, but I'd like to be sure there is not another problem)
Thanks,
Gertjan

Have a look at the journaltask table in the Directory database....
