I know that the web console is an option but we have seen that it is just not very easy to work with as the console. We would like to be able to install the console on the helpdesk admins computer to be able to deploy images and software. Can this be done? The only other option is to have them remote into the server and run the console but that to me is not an option for helpdesk level people to be on the server.

Yes totally....

When you first install Deployment Server you should install the Console on the server. Then you can do a component install of Deployment Server, install the Deployment Console on the Admin workstation and access the Deployment Server from the DS Console on that box.

To do installs of the

To do installs of the Deployment Consoles on other computers, run axInstall.exe from the DSSetup folder on your Deployment Server. Like jjesse said, choose a component install and then choose to install the console on a remote computer.

Confusion

I think the confusion is that the Component install only says "Deploy additional Deployment Server components"

Whilst the Custom Install says "Install components on remote or local computers..."

Asking for the Deployment Share is a bit worrying too as it looks like the install is going to change something locally. It's only when you get to the next screen do you realise that its not and by then it could have already been a disaster.
