  • 1.  Cannot change Mac client from unmanaged to managed

First, I apologize if this question has been asked before.  I searched the forum and could not find an answer.

We have a mix of Windows and Mac clients running SEP 12.1.4.  The SEPM is running on Windows server 2008.  Most of the Macs are seen in SEPM and are managed.  The Macs are a mix of 10.8 and 10.9.  However, I have 1 Mac running OS X 10.9 that I cannot change from unmanaged to managed.  I have run SyLinkDrop to update the SyLink.xml as well as manually copying the SyLink.xml file that I created in SEPM.

Any suggestions on what to try?

    Thank you for the assistance

Yes, I did try the steps in that KB article.  Both the automatic using the tool and manually copying the file.  What is strange is that all but 1 of the Mac clients is managed.

You need to uninstall unmanaged mac client and reinstall managed client.

See same thread and GeoGeo solution

James, thank you for the fix.  Seems odd that I had to uninstall and install.  I did the same procedure as I did before but this time it worked.

Seems more like a workaround than a true fix.
