This issue has been solved. See solution.
Hi there

After upgrading to latest version of SEPM (11.0.1006.103) I cannot import an exported policy.
When trying to import and selecting the exported *.dat file, I get the message:
Failed to import policy.      Invalid import file

Anybody seen this?

Regards Jens

By any chance, Did you try and edit the exported policy with a notepad or a wordpad and saved that.

That's the only time that I have seen the "Invalid import file" error

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"

I still have the problem, but you can use a "workaround" and from the "Clients/Policy" page use the "copy" command on the policy of a group, to place the selected policy on the "Policy clipboard" and then just paste it into the "Policy" page.

I hope this is understandable, otherwise let me know.

According to me policies exported from the basic build for SEP manager which is 11.0.780.1008 cannot be imported back... I was informed by Tech Suupport that this was an issue identified and resolved with Mr1... They also also had a etrack Id for this issue...

So Import for Exported polcies would work Mr1 onwards...  :D
