Cannot launch SEPM...error code returned: 0x80070102

  • 1.  Cannot launch SEPM...error code returned: 0x80070102

    My company had the preventive maintenance 2days ago (had to restart antivirus servers).

    Afterwards, the SEPM can no longer launch while SEP does not update even on users pc.

    kindly advise

    Were any changes made to stop it from working? Was it working previously? Do clients show the green dot on the icon or are they showing as offline?

    Are you able to start the Symantec endpoint protection manager service?

    if its stopped you wont be able to log in to the SEPM and clients will stop communicating with the Manager.

    start all the symantec services from services.msc

    No green dot on the icon for clients.

    it was working prior to the shutting down but shows failed to start the Symantec Management Client application. Error code returned: 0x80070102 when i try to launch SEPM from services.msc.

    Try running a repair on the SEPM

    Hello,

    Where are you receiving error code returned: 0x80070102?

    Is that on the client machine or on SEPM server?

    Did you try running the Management Server configuration Wizard?

    Please check the Symantec Embedded Database Services and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager services are running.

    If not, please try starting the service and check if you are able to login.

    In case not, then please upload us the catalina.out and scm-server-0.log from the server machine.

    In case the error code returned: 0x80070102 is from the SEP client machine, in that case check the article below:

    SMC service will not start. Error 0x80070102

    First try to do a repair from add/remove programs it will fix the files if they are missing.

    then run the management server configuration wizard it will reconnnect the DB

    has there been change to domain accounts ? try repair as suggested above

    thanks all. I am currently running the repair and will update shortly.

    the error code is on the SEPM server. the Management service cannot be started via services.msc

    after the repair, SEPM can now open and services can start! thanks guys!!!

    however, the SEP on user client is not updating (no green dot yet). please adv what next to do pleaee?

    i restarted the server and started the services and the problem is resolved! thank you all....you r too much.
