In SEPM go the required group which the clients needs to connect(SEPM console-->clients).Right click on th group and click on export communication settings.Save this file in appropriate patch and take this file to problematic clients.Rename that file as sylink.xml .Go to start-->run type smc -stop and click ok.Go to \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection, remove the sylink.xml file along with its backups.Copy this new file in that location.Go to start-->run type smc -start.

Thanks for the advise, did we need to remove the sylink.dll as well?

Do not remove sylink.dll .Only sylik.xml,sylink.bak,sylink.001..etc...
