This issue has been solved. See solution.

Dear All,

There are some tapes which has mediaID mismatch with header information. I tried to delete data in the tape with uncheck "Verify media label before performing operation". However erase failed with "cannot overwrite media, data on it is protected(168)" . Please share with any resolutions.

Seems there is data on tape that was written by another backup application?

Try to select all options in Host Properties -> Media server -> Media -> Allow Media Overwrite

If you have more than one media server, do this for all media servers.

Try to Label again and uncheck "Verify media label.." again.

Error bplabel(pid=5092) Media is assigned, and will not be labeled

You did not share the above previously.

Please show us output of the following command:

nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid L708L4

(command is in <install-path>\veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd)
