  • 1.  Cannot Quick Deploy software to PCs with all plugins installed

    Posted Feb 11, 2013 07:41 PM

I am imaging PCs with MDT and pushing the Agent and plugins through policies. All policies are properly set up and I am managing ~500 machines.

My problem is that with the latest three PCs, I am unable to deploy any software. I can run scripts and other tasks through the console, however, I do not see the PC name in the "Quick Run" drop down and if I schedule a software task, I get an error that says something like "after scoping and filtering no computers are left assigned to this task."

I have installed practically all the agent plugins and I can deploy software via jobs abd tasks to all other machines.

I have reset IIS on the Site Server. I have restarted and reinstalled the agent on the target PCs. I have installed the plugin manually because this project cannot wait the 24 hours is take to get all the software plugins.

I have run config updates and resource updates on the console and the target.

Has Basic Inventory been sent back and processed.

Check Resource Explorer for each one and see if Basic Inventory shows the relevant plug-ins as installed. I think this is how the NS determies if a PC can run a software delivery, if the Software Management Plug-in shows in Basic Inventory.

If you receive the message 'After scoping and filtering, no computers are left assigned to this task,' the computer is either missing the plug-in type(s) necessary to run the task(s), or you have run out of licenses.  To check licensing, launch SIM on the Notification Server and click on licensing.  If you've exceeded licenses, or if the licenses are expired, you'll see the same result.

If this doesn't help, check the Notification Server logs for additional detail.
