Cannot Resize Ceratin Drives during a BMR Restore
Created: 06 Mar 2013 | 3 comments
After doing a BMR backup on an older Server 2003 Physical box. I copied the configuration to a new configuration called BMR and then as usually I start making changes. In this case I needed to change the New Volume layout so show the new sizes of drives that my target VM will have. I shrinking the drives because the drive sizes were too large on the physical box. If I right-click the C drive it allows me to change the size but when I do this for the other two drives it is greyed out.
So as you can see nothing is restricted as well

Please try Unmap, and Map again. You may be able to set volume size while mapping.

You are recovering physical machine to virtual - it is Dissimilar System Restore. So, you have to follow Dissimilar System Restore procedures described in BMR Administrator's Guide rather than Remapping.

Thank you I will try that asap and I will let you know...The last two P to V's went ok and all drives were able to be resized so it was weird for this not to be the same...I'll let you know
